The future of academia in US higher education institution is inextricably tied to technological advances in publishing. This comes just 8 years after the University of California released a report after conducting a study with 2,400 survey respondents, which suggest that reading e-books may have adverse effects on learning and memorization.
Yet, according to a more recent study this year, an increasing number of publishers are planning on publishing more e-books than print.
